Monocyte-HDL Ratio: Can It Be Included in The Follow-Up of Diabetes Mellitus and Diagnosis of Diabetic Nephropathy?

Background and Aim: Diabetic nephropathy is the most common cause of end-stage renal disease albuminuria earliest manifestation diabetic nephropathy.Oxidative stress inflammation caused by advanced glyco-oxidation end products contribute to micro macrovascular complications diabetes. Monocyte high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol ratio (MHR) an essential indicator oxidative stress. In this study, we aimed reveal relationship between diabetes regulation MHR. Material Method: A total 182 subjects, including 152 patients with mellitus (DM) 30 healthy controls, were included in study. All data subjects scanned retrospectively. The DM group was divided into two groups (n=68) non-nephropathy (n=84), a limit mg/day for albuminuria. MHR calculated dividing monocyte count HDL count. Results: When non-nephropathy, had higher levels than other group. We showed that correlated albuminuria, creatinine, HbA1c nephropathy. addition, regression analysis, predictors DN, while MHR, age, creatinine found be independent Conclusion: which easily marker simple laboratory tests, frequently requested routine practice follow-up patients, can help predict its kidney complications.
